Request for Information
Developed a Request for Information (RFI) document for distribution to open-platform systems manufactures and their representatives.  The RFI provided details of the County’s current security posture with a description of the County’s goals for a new county-wide Enterprise Security System.  The RFI elicited responses regarding the type of system the manufacturer would offer, the system’s capabilities, and the manufacturer’s ability to support the system after installation.

• All respondents were encouraged to submit questions requesting clarification of the RFI, as necessary.  Reviewed submitted questions and developed answers for distribution via addendum prior to final submittal of system(s) offered by manufacturers and/or their representatives.
• Assisted Mecklenburg County Security Director and the review team by reviewing the systems documentation provided by manufacturers and helped schedule interviews with selected manufacturers and/or their representatives.  Assisted the County in the final selection of a system manufacturer.

Request for Proposal
Developed a Request for Proposal (RFP) document for distribution to integrators dealing in the selected manufacturer’s products.  Only integrators within a four (4)-hour response time were considered qualified to provide a quote for the new county-wide Enterprise Security System.  The RFP, like the RFI, provided details of the County’s current security posture with a description of the County’s goals for a new open-platform county-wide Enterprise Security System.

• Integrators were requested to assure that company personnel held manufacturer’s certifications for the programming, installation and maintenance of the system and equipment to be installed.  The RFP elicited responses regarding the integrator’s capabilities, specific software and equipment the integrator would offer, and the integrator’s ability to support the system after installation.
• All respondents were encouraged to submit questions requesting clarification of the RFP, as necessary.  Reviewed questions and developed answers for distribution via addendum prior to integrator’s quotation submittal.
• Assisted Mecklenburg County Security Director and the review team by reviewing the quotation documentation provided by integrators and helped schedule interviews with selected integrators.  Assisted the County in the final selection of the integrator or integrators.
